The meaning of the ‘mulinello’ is a circular movement, Italian for ‘whirlpool’. It is a reference to the application of the tomato sauce using circular movements during pizza making. It’s located in one of the corners of the small streets that cross famous Baghdad Street in Fenerbahce neighborhood.
Even if it looked small from the outside, its inner area is bigger than you expect – Mulinello has a spacious inner area. My favourite pizza is the vegeteriana – even though I’m not a veggie person, it is just so delicious. Basil, artichoke and asparagus make a perfect fit for this pizza. If you want to try something not veggie, the smoked pizza comes second. It is unique and wonderful in respect to taste. They use a white sauce comprising a mixture of different kinds of cheese instead of tomato sauce. This creates a big difference in the taste.
After the pizza I usually choose the dessert with bergamot taste. But don’t forget: this dessert is served only spring-summer period.
