Another great local ferry line by Şehir Hatları is the Eminönü – Rumeli Kavağı line. (Check out Anadolu Kavağı – Üsküdar Line article for the other great tour on the Anatolian side of the Bosphorus). This line stops by the most popular neighborhoods of the European side: Bebek, Arnavutköy, Emirgan, Beşiktaş, and Eminönü. In addition, there are 4 more piers it goes by: İstinye, Büyükdere, Sarıyer, and Rumeli Kavağı. Who needs to get stuck in traffic when there is sea transportation? Unlike Anadolu the Kavağı-Üsküdar line, this line continues all day with more frequent trips.
On this trip, you can take stunning pictures of Rumeli Fortress, Dolmabahçe Palace, Çırağan Palace, and the Bosphorus Bridge, along with some famous seaside mansions: Yusuf Ziya Paşa Mansion (known as Perili Köşk) in Rumelihisarı, Sait Halim Paşa Mansion in Yeniköy, Emine Valide Paşa Mansion (Egyptian Consulate) in Bebek and many more. This is an unforgettable experience with all this amazing historical sightseeing from the sea.
You can have your tea or coffee on the boat while enjoying the great view. You can also feed the seagulls with simit (Turkish bagel) as locals typically do. Up-to-date trip hours can be checked at the piers or on the Şehir Hatları website.
