Himalayas Indian restaurant is a legendary place. It’s been open since 1997 – which is quite a long life for Kiev’s restaurant scene. Formerly located on the main street of the city – on Kreschatik, it moved to its new home due to some organizational changes. Thank God this had no dramatic changing effect on the main thing there – food!
The portions are quite big, though it says 250 gr, it’s better to order it to share. The prices vary between € 4 – € 8. Sometimes they don’t have a bar list available, please don’t be too disappointed, the beer and wine list is not their strong point. I like the hot and spicy lamb and paneer dishes, garlic bread and different dishes with minty sauces. Also they have a real clay tandoor, so you can enjoy authentic Indian tastes. It’s not a café, it’s a restaurant in the full sense of the word, a place where the Indian community of Kiev meets.
It is easy to find – the Olympic Stadium can be a landmark for you, it’s almost in front of it, on the same street, just a little further down.
