Kinopanorama is a special cinema. It in this case old is better than new. We have so many cinemas now that it is hard to tell one from another. It doesn’t matter which cinema you go to as they are all the same. Kinopanorama, like Zhovten, has its own unique style and soul. Sometimes I don’t even care what movie I am going to see, it’s the atmosphere that I am after.
The design and interior doesn’t seem to have changed since the 1960s, when it was founded. The same old chairs and squeaky floors. Everybody knows that in winter you have to dress warm and sit with your coat on, as the heating system is either broken or there is none at all.
The movies they show are mostly art house. They used to have different kinds of movie nights, dedicated to one film director or one movie series where you can sit, drink, chat and watch four movies in a row. It is a lot of fun, but I could never make it past more than two though. And the tickets are cheap. Extremely, unbelievably cheap.
