Kiev may be the only city you’ll visit during your Ukrainian trip, but who said you can’t experience other parts of Ukraine here? This cosy cafe is the best opportunity to get a taste of my favourite western city Lviv. Lvivska maysternya shokoladu means “Lviv Handmade Chocolate”. Lviv has long been known for its coffee and chocolate traditions due to its close ties with the Austrian-Hungarian empire.
The atmosphere here is quiet and romantic, they have coffee, hot chocolate, tea and a variety of desserts. My favourites are tea with spices and milk and a cheesecake. But it’s not the “New York cheesecake”. Our local cheesecakes are actually pancakes made from cottage cheese.
They also have a shop wich sells coffee and chocolate. Trust me, this is the best chocolate you’ll find in Kiev. Not only does everything taste great but it looks great too! I love beautiful things so often I end up buying something even if I don’t need it. There is plenty of space inside and outside (when it’s warm) but due to the cafes’ popularity and historic location on Andriyivskiy descent it is often crowded on weekends and after 18:00.
