How can you quickly distinguish Kyiv locals from people who recently moved there? It’s easy – just offer him to meet at the «BeZhe». The local will have no question, but the guest surely will ask you: «what is BeZhe?». There is no secret there, the official name of this place – Peyzazhna Alleya, but local residents call it for short, in capital letters of the street Bolshaya Zhytomyrskaya. However, for faster searching I recommend you to use the official name.
Diving into one of the arches from the noisy street Bolshaya Zhytomyrskaya, you find yourself in the middle of cozy green area with modernistic sculptures and funny art objects around. You will see slowly promenading locals with kids, loving couples and hear the accompaniment of street musicians of various musical styles and degree of skill.
It’s a great place for a spontaneous picnic with a glass of wine after a hard day’s work. For a cold days there are few pleasant cafes and restaurants all along the boardwalk, where you can pass the time pleasantly, drinking a cup of coffee with a wonderful view of the St. Andrew’s Church and Dnipro river.
