“Shtany” means “pants” or “trousers”. The name probably has something to do with hip-hop, as once most of the visitors were into this culture. However now nothing really reminds you of hip-hop here and Shtany is a nice place for young people regardless of their music preferences.
Most visitors are locals who’ve been here before, as it is almost impossible to spot it from the street. You have to go through the gateway and turn left – Shtany is in the basement. You can chose between three rooms – one room has a couch and a piano and the other two have tables and a bar. There are lots of board games on the menu and a nice choice of food, beer, cocktails and hookah.
As the main audience is young people, the prices are quite cheap. On weekends they have parties with DJs and as the place is quite small it can get extremely crowded. I can’t say it is my favourite bar, the thing I like about Shtany is that it’s always open while most local bars close at midnight.
