Forum przestrzenie – reactivated
One of the great things that can happen to a city is when a space, which was considered lost to mankind forever, comes back to life. Such a place in Kraków is Hotel Forum. With the view on the Wawel castle, Kazimierz and the river banks, it is one of the best locations in town. However, it was closed for years and many believed that this was how it would stay.
Luckily, something changed. Part of the ground floor and a vast fragment of the lawn in front has been turned into Forum Przestrzenie [“Forum Spaces”]. The interior has been renovated – it now has a slightly industrial feeling to it – and sunbeds put outside, inviting thus not only those prepared to bear dusty, loud spaces, but making the spot suitable for kids or dogs. If you don’t find a sunbed or chair, feel free to sit on small walls or whatever suits your fancy. In the colder months, you can enjoy its retro-industrial interior and sit on sunbeds which have been hidden from winter.
You can come over for drinks, for beer, for lemonade or when hungry – for pizza and sandwiches. You might also catch a concert. But mostly, you can come for an absolutely relaxed atmosphere. The place is incredibly popular and simply swarming with people. It allows the locals to enjoy their city from an angle they were deprived of for so long. See for yourself!
