We, people from Nowa Huta, will be always coming back to our little homeland. Although I don’t live there anymore, I visit it very often, not just to see my parents, who still live there. The second reason is very prosaic – I just love wandering down the wide and spatial sidewalks, especially during long summer days. This is the “greenest” area in Krakow!
The owner of the place I discovered recently – Huta Piwa (Beer’s Steelwork) – is a native Nowa Huta citizen and although he doesn’t live there anymore either, he came back, opening the biggest beer store in the whole district.
The name of this place refers to the district where it is located. Nowa Huta (New Steelwork) – the forgotten district of Krakow, has recently been experiencing a revival, which I am really happy about.
The owner of this place is passionate about beer. His shop sells around 350 types of this golden drink. Once you enter, you’ll definitely choose something for you – the decision may be hard to make, but depending on what you prefer, the owner will help you.
The collection of Nowa Huta beers is especially recommendable – beers brewed in a small brewery in Nowa Huta have been named after the estate communities from Nowa Huta – Słoneczne (Sunny), Zielone (Green) or Złota Jesień (Gold Autumn). You’ll be surprised with Młodości (Adolescence) – its sweet aroma doesn’t suggest the bitter taste it has!
