There are places that aren’t the most “fancy” ones, but these are places you go to because of the food. This time I want to take you to visit a little place with Ukrainian dishes, located in the underpass connecting the Railway/Bus Station with the Main Market (part of it in direction to Lubicz and Westerplatte streets). I know that it sounds difficult to find but believe me, you won’t regret it.
At Kalejdoskop’s entrance you will find a blackboard with handwritten choices of food that are on offer – the menu is not too big but it contains everything you have to try from the local Ukrainian kitchen: you can order traditional soups (solianka or barszcz), pierogi (with potatoes, meat or cabbage), pielmieni and even sweet pancakes.
This place is small but I feel that the people working there put their heart into the food, they’re very friendly and smiling and will always tell you to add “śmietana” (sour cream) to every dish – that’s how they do it. Kalejdoskop is a very simple but positive place, which gives you the opportunity to try flavors that are quite close to Poland (it’s less than 300 km to our east border).
