Let us talk about one of those classic first world problems that can split the crowd: vegan burgers.
For some, the idea of no meat is a joke and/or an instant repellent. In Poland, vegan spots started cropping up quite recently and to some they remain something strange. I would say that it is unjustifiably so and Krowarzywa should help me with proving my case.
Krowarzywa seems to have become the most famous veggie burger joint in Poland, having already opened venues in Warsaw and Krakow. They are widely popular and not just because of this reputation – this is some tasty stuff! A short visit is enough to see plenty of people – mostly the young folk for now – munching and getting messy with their burgers with evident pleasure.
As a rule, everything there is vegan. On permanent offer you will find such options as chickpea, tofu or seitan burgers, but there’s also the burger of the month. Some of the options so far have been cauliflower, beetroot and fava beans (my personal favorite). You get plenty of veggies plus sauces by default, but you can also mix and match different extras and choose from a colorful array of drinks.
By no means will I try to persuade you that it will fool you it’s meat – absolutely not. But it’s tasty, fresh and interesting; your order comes quickly and does not cost millions. Between continuous servings of żur and pierogi, dare to have a bite of something green!
