Walking along Rajska street – probably hurrying to the library or parking your car to go the centre, one might have noticed a rather unusual building. Because of its size and form, it is something that really would have caught your eye.
The Garden of Art of Lesser Poland is a space where different kinds of art are “cultivated” for the benefit of all age groups. Among its features we find a media library, spaces for exhibitions, concerts, lectures… There is also a lovely cafe downstairs (spacious, with plenty of treats).
Presently, the initiative, which in terms of administration belongs to the Słowacki theatre, is still developing, therefore it is not easy to foresee how the Garden will function in a few years’ time. In the cafe downstairs, you can often attend events connected to new technologies, community initiatives, which is definitely why it’s an interesting spot in the city. Another, very important reason for this is its architecture. It’s really impressive – in the rather old city centre, the modern design of the Garden is original, however it’s far from being qualified as an eyesore. Not only does it fit the surroundings – it even adds value, which is rare.
It’s close to the city centre, so if you’re walking nearby, don’t miss this original spot. By the streets benches have been installed, so you can sit down for a second and admire a well-done building, quite untypical for this city. Or stay longer in the spacious cafe Pauza InGarden.
