Planning to stroll along the Vistula River and looking for a nice point to stop along the way? Look no further. Powiśle 11 is a place Kraków has been lacking for a long time – a beautifully designed space with facilities thought for locals and tourists alike. Building something new at the foot of the famous Wawel castle hill was a huge challenge and the creators of Powiśle 11 rose to it.
The new building fits harmoniously into the landscape (being a design geek myself, it really pleases me), but there’s more to it than just the aesthetic surface. Inside you’ll find an info point and a tasteful souvenir shop. Apart from those, my favourite section of Powiśle 11 is METAFORMA Cafe, a dog-friendly artsy place with a creative interior I absolutely adore. And the best part? It’s an art gallery at the same time, so if you’ll like some pieces (I’m quite sure you will) you’re more than welcome to purchase them! Feeling hungry or thirsty? METAFORMA offers a wide selection of food (ex. tasty sweet and savoury tarts) and coffee. Behind the bar there’s a wide selection of local craft beers, ciders and wines.
To wrap it up, there’s a lovely outside space for soaking up the sun during the warmer months. Powiśle 11 often hosts vibrant cultural events – it’s really one of the best spots to get a taste of the local culture!
