One of the best things of my vacations in Georgia was the food, tastes which I couldn’t forget. You can only imagine my happiness when my friend told me that there is a place where we could go to remind ourselves of the Georgian cuisine.
Smaki Gruzji isn’t very big but it’s cozy and between two sides of restaurant you’ll see something very symbolic – Georgia’s flag and some other reminders from that part of world.
The menu is quite short but you can still have problems deciding what to order… I suggest getting most of the things I mention here :-D. From the starters you have to try badriżiani (eggplant with walnut paste), from the mains a must are chinkali (Georgian dumplings, which you cannot eat using a fork and knife so you’d better ask a waiter how to do it properly) and of course my favorite – chaczapuri (type of yeast cake, I suggest trying the most popular, megruli with cheese).
If it’s going to be a real Georgian supra (meeting of people with a lot of food and alcohol) you need wine, and here you can buy it in carafes of medium liter or 1 liter.
The best thing in this restaurant is that the owners and cooks are from Georgia, they use spices from their country so it really tastes like the real food from there – for me it’s a taste of nostalgia.
