Podil really is a magnificent place to attract you again and again. And it is always full of spots worth visiting – even experienced citizens explore it and find new places.
Living Room is an easygoing place, and easiness is all around here. Opened by two Syrian guys, it became a part of their friends’ and Kyiv hipsters’ routine. All the furniture and details found here are used and have been bought on the Internet or at second hand markets by the owners and their friends. The announcements on the door tell you about the cultural and sport events in the city. The area of Living Room is the main and only tiny hall it has and it has two-three tables outside for good weather.
Although the place is small, the guys organize almost private concerts with the artists sitting in armchairs, as there is nowhere left to stand.
The menu is small also, but everything is unusual and feels home-made. Syrian lentil soup, rice, pasta and sandwiches are on the menu. My recommendation is the great carrot cake, rich in carrot, and Syrian cardamon tea to go with it. The Carpathian red wine is the best choice now though.
