There are days where all we need is a fast, well-cooked meal, while still being well received at the restaurant. I thus present you A Tasquinha da Linha. As the name suggests, it is a typical tasca (small traditional restaurant, with no pretentiousness whatsoever) in front of the railway line at the Station of Roma-Areeiro.
Every day, A Tasquinha da Linha has an €8 full menu (soup or dessert, main dish, drink and coffee) with a choice of 5 dishes that change from lunch to dinner and from day to day. That means that you can eat there every day for a whole week and never have to eat the same thing. The main directive at A Tasquinha da Linha is that you shouldn’t leave while still hungry, so you can ask for some more of anything you want and you will be served with a smile and friendliness.
Whether you choose to eat outside or inside the restaurant, a Tasquinha da Linha is a small place, so you will never have to deal with many people talking loudly which, for me, is a very impactful plus. The other one is that you can access it by train, obviously, or by any other means of transport, because it is at walking distance from any other place in Lisbon.
