It’s hard to find fish and seafood restaurants in London that are really exceptional because it’s not near the sea. While the River Thames provides some coastal area in central London, it’s unlikely that anything coming out from it would be deemed safe enough to be served on a plate. However, London is home to Billingsgate market where you can get the best produce from the British seas and where many restaurants in the Big Smoke get their fish and seafood stock.
But even with the largest fish market around, Bonnie Gull goes beyond by sourcing their seafood direct from day-boats around the coast. The menu changes daily depending on the catch that morning. One thing that doesn’t change is the quality of the food on offer – it’s simply yum.
The white and blue stripe theme decor plus nautical knick-knacks present a seaside atmosphere for the diner. And on a clear, sunny day in Fitzrovia, you can even sit outside.
If you’re just after fish and chips then Bonnie Gull will be overpriced for you although they do make them good! But if you’re willing to explore the wonders of the sea and more then grab your table quick and make sure you arrive with an empty stomach! Booking is highly recommended as the place gets really busy.
