Ev restaurant is located just a few steps away from Southwark Station and is tucked back beneath a set of railway arches. You wouldn’t think to walk across this path except that a lovely display of foliage leads you somehow right to the front entrance of this hidden delight.
Ev is a Turkish café, restaurant and bar all located next to each other in different archways. The first thing you will notice is just how strikingly beautiful the space is with its ribbed wooden ceilings and ivy plants cascading from the large windowsills. It creates a very grand but welcoming atmosphere that I’ve come to admire. At the restaurant, they serve up delicious middle-eastern food with a large array of items to choose from. My husband and I usually can’t decide so we end up getting a whole slew of their hot and cold mezes with dishes such as hummus, stuffed vine leaves, falafel, calamari, and my personal favourite – tabbuleh.
If you don’t fancy having a huge meal, you can grab a bite at the café or even buy some Turkish goods to take home with you.
