No matter how many countries I may visit, how many fine dining experiences I may have, and how sophisticated my palate may get, I’ll always love a good old-fashioned chili dog. It doesn’t have to be fancy; a heap of chili loaded up with gooey yellow cheese and the usual condiments will suffice.
This is where Dog Haus in Pasadena comes in. They give you the basics of a great hot dog, then go all out with the works. And by the works I mean anything from blue cheese, to onion slices and corn chips. Then it’s served on a Hawaiian Bun. My favorite is the Little Leaguer which has chili, cheese, onions and fritos. They also have great sides like tater tots and sweet potato fries. Good luck finding room in your stomach after one of their hot dogs!
I know everyone tells you to go to Pink’s for a good hot dog, but this place runs circles around Pinks and their ridiculously long line around the block. It’s a bit of a drive to get to Pasadena, but it’s worth it!
