Marciano Art Foundation Los Angeles

Marciano Art Foundation – Contemporary art museum

I love the Marciano Art Foundation (MAF). It’s a rich, private art collection that’s free and open to the public. MAF was created by Paul and Maurice Marciano (brothers & co-founders of Guess Jeans) to be “a space to discover and engage with contemporary art” and that it is!

The location itself is a work of art. It’s housed inside the old Masonic Temple off Wilshire Blvd. I feel a part of a sacred ritual just being inside of here! Furthermore, it’s in the beautiful neighborhood of Hancock Park which adds a touch of LA elegance to the experience.

There are 3 floors and an outdoor sculpture patio. The first floor hosts large MAF Project exhibits like Ai Wei Wei’s Life Cycle. The 2nd floor showcases video art. The third floor is an exhibition of rotating works from the permanent collection of the Marciano brothers and it’s my favorite. On this floor, there’s a gorgeous balcony with views of the iconic Hollywood sign.
