Open Sesame is a popular Lebanese restaurant that originated in Long Beach before opening its doors in Los Angeles. They have a pretty extensive menu filled with seasoned meat, seafood and potatoes, along with plenty of options for vegetarians. You can find a full bar right at the front with specialty cocktails and Lebanese beer.
The flavors of their dishes are very strong and unique. The meat is seasoned with spices that aren’t typically used in American cuisine, so eating here is like a culinary exploration that incorporates smell and taste. The fried potatoes with a side of garlic sauce are an absolute must! I always go for the pita sandwiches because they are smaller than a regular entree, and the potatoes are very filling.
The decor here is lovely and they have outdoor seating as well as indoor and bar seating. I would recommend making a dinner reservation on weekends because it’s a very small restaurant. There is no parking lot so if you are taking a car you will have to either mind the meter or do valet. This is becoming a trendy neighborhood so there are quite a few cafes and dessert bars nearby to satisfy your sweet tooth after a meal.
