Araldo Pizzería, tucked away on Calle de los Madrazo, is my absolute favourite place for pizza in Madrid—and the first spot I take friends when they want something truly special. Unlike the heavy, doughy pizzas many expect, Araldo’s pizzas are remarkably light. You finish one and feel like you could happily start on another.
The secret lies in their careful craft: authentic Italian techniques, top-quality ingredients, and a dough that’s perfectly airy and crisp. Each bite highlights how pizza can be both indulgent and beautifully balanced.
Beyond the food, I love the warm, relaxed atmosphere. It sits just steps from Madrid’s grandest avenues—close to the Retiro, the majestic Cibeles, and the stately boulevards—so it’s the perfect spot for a leisurely stop during a day exploring the city.
Sure, it’s an Italian restaurant in Madrid, but it’s an Italian that stands out for all the right reasons: exceptional quality, genuine passion, and a place you’ll find yourself returning to whenever you’re nearby. Honestly, I wouldn’t normally take my parents and grandmother out for pizza, but here, I know they’d be surprised, delighted, and probably asking when we’re coming back.
