Usually I don’t like to make such statements, but this time I will go for it: the best meatballs in town are served in Bolero Meatballs.
In this small bar located near the Opera Theater, the menu is simple but delicious, with five different types of meatballs (fresh made daily in the oven):
“De la Abuela” (Grandmother’s) typical Spanish meatballs with pork meat and home made tomato sauce.
“Oriental” also pork meat but with peanut, coconut milk sauce and cilantro.
“Chick & Parm” parmesan chicken meatballs.
“Vegan” made with quinoa, tofu, shiitake and caramelized onions.
“Special” it changes depending on the season, last time I checked it was a sandwich with the meatballs of your choice plus bacon, cheese and pesto…BEST MEATBALLS EVER.
You can choose order them as a sandwich made with brioche bread or in a plate, served with delicious fried potatoes or rice. And if your are feeling very hungry, you can go for the spaghetti and meatballs plate, and if you’re feeling romantic too you can reenact the Lady and the Tramp’s most famous scene.
P.S. They’re closed in August.
