Even though I love all coffee shops and I blog about them, a lot, good quality coffee is hard to find in Madrid. That is just my opinion, of course, so to find a place that serves house-roasted coffee the way I like is just wonderful.
Cafés Arrivederci has been around for more than 50 years, it serves and grinds the beans on-site and offers a great variety of options, mainly African and Latin American, always thinking of coffee lovers from every walk of life. My friend and I found it by chance – we happened to stumble upon it while we were seeking shelter from a rainstorm. And what a surprise.
This small cafeteria is not officially online and is far less “instaready” than your trendy-picture-perfect-place but that is exactly what makes it so cool.
The greatest treat here is that you can get a coffee bag of freshly grained coffee that is adapted to your coffee machine at home. Meaning that the grain size makes a huge difference, did you know this? I didn’t.
Let the person behind the counter make recommendations and follow their advice. If you are me and like your coffee not too strong but not too weak, then a Mexican origin is what you will get. They also offer tea and homemade cakes at Arrivederci but coffee is what they do best.
