What I love the most about La Azotea is the fact that it’s part of this awesome building, Círculo de Bellas Artes, filled with art, literature, movies, exhibitions and cultural workshops. It has given us one more reason to visit and during spring-summer time it’s one of the coolest rooftops in town. They have accommodated the rooftop trend in this traditional artistic space, and the result is amazing.
In case you want to enjoy the cultural visit, then leave the rooftop for the end. Whether you are hungry, thirsty or just in the mood for some rooftop fun, La Azotea will not let you down. There are 3 different atmospheres. On one side is where the chill-out area is, with beds and cushions to enjoy a cocktail with a group of friends. Close to the restaurant there are some tables with soft lighting, which are perfect for a date, and in the restaurant, TarTan Roof, is where great food awaits. I have yet to try their menu but the view and the pictures of Madrid you can take from La Azotea are reason enough for me to enjoy, and recommend, this spot.
Tables are arranged so that all visitors, seating and standing, can enjoy the beautiful rooftops in Madrid. You have to pay € 4 to access the rooftop, a small price, I think, to preserve this new tradition in the city. Please note that their schedule changes during winter time, so keep that in mind when planning your visit.
