The first encounter I had with La Luna 22 really proved why first impressions are extremely important in many aspects of life.
The place was only 2 months old at the time but I’ve been ogling it since it set up shop. I had booked tickets to the cinema but I had not decided where I wanted to eat. I remembered that I had to try this little gastrobar that opened just a minute away. Of course the always present procrastinating side of me decided today was the day. I talked to the owner of the restaurant and he actually made the kitchen open 30 minutes early for us just so that we would get in time to the cinema.
They have since then proved that it was not a fluke, the customer comes first. The restaurant is divided in two sections. The bar in the front, where you can sit and have your meal, or you can opt for the sit-down choice in the more classic restaurant part.
The restaurant menu is short but executed perfectly and they also have a plato del dia (plate of the day). You can eat smaller portions at the bar where they have a little different setup of the menu. The actual food is almost impeccable and I’ve tried 90% of the menu so go wild and order many different things. If you’ve never tried Rabo de toro (bull’s tail) you need to try the homecooked version they serve. I literally licked the plate.
