Outdoor cinema is a tradition that happens in cities, towns and villages all over Spain during the summer months.
From July 2 til August 28 on Saturday nights, La Casa Encendida (a social and cultural arts foundation) will show films on its roof terrace, “La Terraza Magnetica.” For a mere 4 euros, you can enjoy interesting screenings while sitting outside in a beautiful setting.
The theme this summer is “Criaturas Vulnerables” (Vulnerable Creatures), featuring movies that explore the relationship between humans and non-humans. Films are in the original version and start at 22:00: quality headphones are provided, so background noise is no problem.
On Sunday nights there are concerts which start at 21:00; great value at just 8 euros. If you enjoy non-mainstream fare, La Terraza Magnetica serves an eclectic selection of cult and alternative cinema and concerts. This summer’s season runs in tandem to an exhibition of the same title.
You can purchase both cinema and concert tickets on their website – be quick, as there are limited numbers.
There’s a bar so you can have drinks and snacks just like in a regular cinema – except it is so much more magical to be outside on a rooftop on a beautiful summer’s night.
If you don’t make it to a movie or concert this summer, don’t stress! La Casa Encendida is worth visiting anytime.
