Readers, today this post is dedicated to my beloved TORTILLA, also known as “La Tortilla Española” or “Tortilla de Patatas”. For those who have never tried it, it’s a staple in the traditional Spanish diet. The recipe is basic: it’s made with potatoes, eggs, olive oil and (maybe) onions. Simple, but ooooh so delicious.
So, I’m here to tell you all where to get yourselves what I consider to be one of the best slices that I’ve had in the city. The place to go is Loretto Bar. It’s located in between Malasaña and Chueca on Calle Corredera Baja de San Pablo (which I’m mentioning because that street is a gem with tons of restaurants to try, you’re welcome (; ). The interior is lovely; while the old brick walls give the place a rustic and urban feel, the artwork in combination with the abundance of natural light adds a “cozy” factor that will make you feel right at home.
Of course tortilla isn’t the only option that they offer. If you’re heading over for dinner, try out their “pizza burrata” or their “huevos rotos”.
