Deep down in Lavapies, Madrid’s most multi-cultural and bohemian neighbourhood, you’ll find Pizza Posta, a really great place to enjoy everyone’s favourite fast food. It is 100% vegetarian, with a few vegan options too, and uses organic flour and fresh ingredients, so you can feel a little bit less guilty about eating pizza!

Argentinian pizza is thick, pillowy and crispy on the outside, making it very filling – one pizza is plenty for 2 people (I couldn’t even finish half), and if you can’t agree on the topping, you can do half and half for an extra 2 euros.

And wow, the toppings! It is hard to decide – they all sound amazingly delicious, and there is a new special every month. They don’t skimp either – these are seriously loaded, decadent pizzas.

There is no booking, and it is a small place, so get there early or be prepared to queue, especially on Fridays and the weekends. When we went midweek though, it was pretty empty, although they were clearly doing a roaring trade in take-out.

I love the relaxed table-sharing vibe; it feels like sitting in a friend’s kitchen, unpretentious and happy. The gigantic pepper mill gives the place a 70s feel and the spicy oil on the table is a nice touch – everything is better with some chilli on it! Super friendly servers too.

So, if you fancy some decadent vegetarian Argentinian pizza, Posta is your place!
