Art, drinks, jazz and restaurant. All of that is Saporem, located right next door to Room007 Ventura, a really modern and fun hostel in El Barrio de las Letras.
I found this restaurant when I was looking for creative and original food with affordable prices. My surprise was that not only was their Mediterranean fusion cuisine amazing but the decoration and the atmosphere were also dreamy. In fact, the secret of Saporem is the hidden but really cozy terrace where musicians play jazz, swing and soul live sessions on Wednesday to Sunday nights.
I tried their homemade pizzas and an incredible tuna tataki with strawberries, cucumber and wakame; but I definitely have to go back and order the caramelized onion “tortilla” or the mango chicken with mint wrapped in rice paper.
It’s also perfect if you just want to have drinks and chill out on the terrace because of their large cocktails menu.
P.S. On Saturday and Sunday afternoons and evenings they do “Cakes & Tonics”: gin tonic or vodka tonic + piece of homemade cake = € 10.
