More than a hundred years ago, the Social Democrats swept over Sweden. One of the things that came with that is all the People’s parks, Folkets park, that exist in almost every city of Sweden of a certain size. One of the oldest, maybe the oldest in Sweden, is the one in Malmö. It is a very popular place for everyone living in Malmö, since there are very good interactive playgrounds, a place where you can swap books, a small splashing pond – that transforms into an ice skating ring at wintertime – concerts, sport events on big screens etc. We come here to have a picnic or go to one of the establishments. Street food has been part of the park for some years, and there is lots to choose from. They also have decent bars and a terrarium if the weather is bad.
I like to come here with my kids, especially at summertime. They like the playgrounds, especially the places where you can climb up high. Also, we like to look at the turtles and wallabies that are here.
There is lots more to choose from, check out there website or go to see for yourself!
