In Sweden, the only place to buy alcohol is at Systembolaget. That is unless you want to buy alcohol with 3.5% or less, then you can get it at the store.
Systembolaget is situated everywhere in Sweden, and only sells drinks. Wine, beer, cider, champagne, liquor and even non-alcoholic beverages. The opening hours are as in a normal store, and they are closed on Sundays.
What is great about Systembolaget, is that there is so much to choose from. If you know a beverage they don’t have, they can order it for you. Also, the people in the store are very helpful and they know a lot about drinks and what to have with what. They are not trying to sell you anything, since there is no bonus or bond between them and the producers. Their job is to guide you to that good drink within a certain price range that matches your dinner/dessert/cheese.
In this store in particular they have a wider selection of wine than the other stores in Malmö do. They also have a wine cellar. Since Sweden doesn’t sell alcoholic beverages for profit, you can often find special wine or beer at better price than in other countries. Sometimes conoisseurs of foreign wines line up when a certain wine is for sale at this store, since the price isn’t regulated by the market but from taxes. And that makes it cheaper.
Systembolaget is for people who like good service, and a wide selection.
