If you’re gonna do dogs, then you gotta do them right. And when it comes to hot dogs, more is always more.
Before Dust Dogs landed in November ’21, there was a hot dog-shaped hole in Manchester’s food scene. Sure, you could find one or two on menus around the city. But nowhere really specialised in this classic crowd-pleaser that placed them front and centre.
Now the gap is well and truly closed. This diner-style bolt hole welcomes hungry passers-by to its corrugated iron hangout on the edge of Manchester’s Northern Quarter.
Pull up a stool or bench and enjoy the custom signs from the fantastic Neon Creations and street art-splashed walls.
The joy of eating at Dust Dogs is simplicity. Expect luscious hot dogs with indulgent extras at a great price.
Choose a no-nonsense hot dog (£4.00) or ramp things up with a dust dog (£5.00) topped with onion, mustard, ketchup and potato sticks.
If you’re feeling extravagant, or just plain hungover, the pastrami dog (£6.00) or chilli dog (£6.50) have your back. Extras such as hot dog fries (£5.00) and bacon cheese fries (£4.50) are quite frankly irresistible. Go on – do it!
Wash your dogs down with a homemade lemonade or, my personal favourite, the heavenly watermelon iced tea (both £3.00).
For evening drinks or to spice up your shopping trip, Dust Dogs also shakes a mean cocktail (£8.00). I recommend a tipsy Texan, Havana strawberry lemonade or a watermelon sugar high. You’re welcome.
