Ginger’s Comfort Emporium – Ice cream heaven

We’ve already had the first snow of the season, but that doesn’t mean it’s too cold for ice cream! Tucked away in a corner inside the huge alternative shopping mall, Ginger’s Emporium offers a little bit of respite from the Saturday shoppers. It also serves some of Manchester’s most interesting desserts.

Known as ‘ice cream for grown-ups’ Ginger’s offerings definitely aren’t your usual chocolate and vanilla, with plenty of boozy, sweet, spicy and downright bizarre choices! My favourite is the ever-popular ‘Chorlton Crack’ (salted caramel and peanut butter – what’s not to love?!) but the menu is always changing. Chai Spice¬†was a particularly pleasant surprise for me.

There are some savoury flavours too, but I haven’t been brave enough to try the absinthe offering yet though!

Don’t think you can’t join in the fun if you’ve decided to shun dairy either! Gingers also serves up a selection of vegan-friendly desserts so nobody has to miss out!
