Pi is one of my favourite hangouts in Chorlton. It really does what it says on the tin–pies! And very tasty ones at that. The pie options change each time you go, but there are always 4 available, including at least 1 vegetarian option, but often more. My favourite pie is the “Heidi”, which is the vegetarian goat’s cheese, sweet potato and spinach one. Drool.
You can also choose to add mashed potato, mushy minty peas and gravy on the side. I’d recommend sharing the sides if you’re going with a friend, as it makes a pretty hefty meal and they give you enough gravy for 2 (in my opinion, but if you like to drown your pie, then just go for it)!
Even if you’re not hungry, Pi is a great spot to grab a drink, do the crossword and watch the world go by. I love their usual soundtrack of classic rock. They do really good coffee that comes with a jaffa cake, which is an awesome idea, why doesn’t everywhere do that? And there is a pretty good selection of ales on tap and in the fridge.
