I’m a huge believer in making more ethical choices when it comes to shopping, and buying second-hand is a huge part of that. Scouting for vintage gems is one of my favourite things to do at the weekend, so you’ll often find me at the Stockport Vintage Village. It takes place every second Sunday of the month inside Stockport’s historic Market Hall – a beautiful covered building which is a really fitting setting for the vintage theme.
Packed full of vintage goodies from all eras from clothing, jewellery and accessories to furniture, tableware, textiles, knick knacks for the home and antique toys. You might need to have a bit of a rummage, but that’s part of the fun! Each month the market has a special theme to reflect the season. There are also some lovely vintage and antique shops in the surrounding area, which are a great extension to the market.
Even if you’re not planning on buying anything, it’s well worth the trip just to look at some of the amazing outfits other market-goers are wearing.
