There is no shortage of coffee shops in Manchester, but TAKK is one of the stalwarts of the artisan coffee scene. In the hip Northern Quarter (of course) lies this splendid spot where you can drink coffee and meet local creatives.
Each time I visit, it’s always a hive of activity, with local artists, designers and media types tapping away on MacBooks while necking flat whites. It’s a welcoming space to work, but it doubles as a genuinely lovely place to hang out with friends.
Its interior is a Nordic-inspired affair – three words that always get my knees knocking. Brews come from such diverse places as Bristol and Berlin, and there’s delicious food to try, too. Find me in a corner gorging on Nduja and eggs – its one of the few places in Manchester that serves my favourite spicy sausage spread.
