Every time I’m in the south side of the city, I love going to Coyoacan; strolling through its streets and enjoying the colors, the sounds, the architecture. Just across the park there is La Coyoacana.
This is the place that has the perfect balance between a cozy, relaxed restaurant and a “ready-to-start-the-party” place. There is no dress code, just great food and amazing mezcal, and if you are in the mood, ask the mariachi to play some traditional songs for you (just keep track of the songs you ask, they will charge you for them at the end).
I love eating, and some of my favourite dishes is the “Aztec Soup”. The “Mole con Pollo” will also do the trick, and of course, a “400 conejos” mezcal.
This is a great place that invites me not just to go, eat and leave, but to gather with my friends, and have a (very long) great time, and maybe meet new people. The service is also amazing.
If you go on a Sunday, you must arrive early — the waiting list may be a little too long, and there are no reservations.
Oh, I love getting a table on the patio!
