When I was a child, my dad used to take us Sundays to a football match at C:U. Stadium but before we arrived we always had to make a “pit stop” at Rosita Alvires.
It’s not a fancy or luxurious spot, but that is exactly what makes this place so special, no matter if it’s your first time here or if you’re a regular, they always make you feel special, and… speaking of special, well the tacos here are just that.
I love to start with a quesadilla — it’s oaxaca type cheese, melting outside from the tortilla. It takes me back to those childhood years but the main event is the “campechano taco”, a mix of salted beef, chorizo and chicharron (the crispy skin of the pork) all perfectly minced and mixed with some drops of lemon. After tasting it, I can truly say that the day has begun!
All of these cannot be perfect unless you eat it with a glass of “Horchata”, a sweet beverage made from rice and cinnamon. It’s my favourite of all time!
It is truly a great way to have breakfast, or maybe some dinner.
Don’t miss it!
