I recently visited Yellow Bird. The place is located in the basement of a Porfirian-style house in the Roma neighborhood. The drink that gives its name to this speakeasy consists of rum, apricot, banana liqueur, pineapple juice and citrus, and is served in a bird-shaped glass that’s handmade in Japan. However, that time I decided to try one of their popular mezcal drinks — since then, I’ve been eager eager to go back to try their famous Yellow Bird.
Their drinks are focused on the use of culinary techniques to empower the flavors, which are really creative. They have certainly come up with amazing combinations.
While I was there, I had the chance to meet two of the owners, who happened to be bartending that night. It seemed like they were really enjoy being part of the crowd and getting to know their guests and sharing their travel stories around the world.
It’s a great place to have a delicious drink and get to know the Yellow Bird family. I recommend coming only with a few friends since the place is quite small. One thing you need to know to be able to visit Yellow Bird: you need a reservation via Whats App or Instagram DM (@yellowbird.bar)
