Piazza Affari is a very important place for the city and for the entire financial system 'cause the Milan Stock Exchange is located there, hosted in the historic Palazzo Mezzanotte. This building was designed by the architect Mezzanotte, in 1932 during the fascist era and, in fact, it reflects the canons of rationalism combined with the classics. During the works the remains of a Roman theater were discovered and to ensure that they were protected and promoted the construction of the building suffered some set-backs.
Since its construction it's had numerous internal restructuring, to conform with the demands of a technological world, the Stock market, that is very particular. But in recent times what catches the eye without any doubt is the presence of a very peculiar monument realized by the contemporary sculptor Maurizio Cattellani, author of several very irreverent and provocative works. This monument, which the author named L.O.V.E. has raised many controversies and maybe will be moved.
