Bar Pelican is where every interior detail is meticulously thought through. Art Deco feels at home here on the first floor of a Stalin Era building with large arched windows, tall ceilings and an atmosphere of grandeur. At the same time, it feels like a living room of a Roaring 20s mogul where only a select few are allowed entry. What’s that supposed to mean? Well, when I first walked through the large heavy door, I thought for a second I was a member of a closed-membership club. I felt I belonged there. I felt at home. And the staff made it feel only more so!
I definitely suggest coming here at different times of the day. The bar opens up at 16:00 and is usually empty, making it perfect to enjoy an afternoon cocktail or some tea (or coffee for that matter) with some pastries or with some company. Later on in the evening, the bar fills up with people and turns into a roaring cocktail party over weekend midnights.
The dress code is not imposed but it is assumed, especially in the evening when the visitors are dressed in evening attire, ready to show off their dashing outfits and enjoy the company of like-minded people.
