A backyard door away from the street. All walls painted in black, it’s night even by day, only a painted colorful door is the sign that something might be happening behind this brick wall. You enter, turn left passing the curtains and there you are. A red sofa and small table on both sides, in the back facing you the bar and the cocktail magicians.
The drink menu isn’t endless; only a careful selection of interesting drinks. You order one, maybe a snack, and start sipping your cocktail. I call the bartenders the magicians; there is a reason for that. There is a great chance that you will tempted by a second try and that’s where the discussion starts: what do you like? A few minutes later you can observer the man or the woman behind the bar being busy selecting bottles, spices, fruits and other accessories to create something for you.
And if your stomach is asking for something more consistent, you can always have a look in their food section of the cocktail menu. The bar is connected to the foiegwa restaurant at the corner Notre-Dame and avenue Atwater. Your appetite is covered!
When you think your evening is over and no more surprises will happen, then it’s happening again. Lynchian I wrote: it’s the red color, the curtains to leave the stage and a skull saying “see you next time”.
