Situated on Montreal’s iconic main drag, Saint-Laurent street, the Café Melbourne is a cozy, non-pretentious spot to go for coffee and lunch daily and brunch on the weekends offering an Australian-inspired menu.
Open since 2012 by two Aussies who wanted to bring a part of their Melbourne café culture to Montreal, the cafe started getting lots of attention when they began serving brunch on the weekends. The place has a very laid back and relaxing vibe. The menu changes regularly. The last time I had brunch here, I tried the smashed avocado served on toasted sourdough with grilled halloumi cheese, roasted tomato and soft boiled egg. Very good! They offer many delicious and creative dishes such as smoked salmon on bagel with wasabi cream cheese or the matcha and black sesame cooked overnight oats with fruit. If you just want simple eggs and bacon, they have that too! Along with their turmeric latte and signature Lucky Charm latte, this place offers a brunch menu like none other in Montreal. The portions are generous and very affordable.
If you love brunch as much as I do, pay a visit soon, you won’t be disappointed. Make sure to check their Facebook page to confirm they are serving brunch that weekend (usually from 10:00 until sold out).
