The borough of Lasalle in Montreal has a beautiful lakeshore, similar to its neighbour, the borough of Lachine. But while that part of the lakeshore mainly opens up into Lac St-Louis, a body of water that’s a little calmer and more ideal for boat rides and paragliding, the water in Lasalle is a little rougher. Des Rapides Park is the ideal place to get a view of the rushing water.
A place that’s often overlooked but shouldn’t be, this relaxing little park along Lasalle Boulevard is hidden in plain sight. Sometimes I like to go for a quick walk along the main path which is surrounded by green trees, bushes and underbrush leading to a lookout over the small rapids. Watching the speed of the water as it flows and swirls over rocks making a powerful sound, I’m impressed by the strength of the current and mother nature itself.
