The area between Guy Concordia and Atwater street in Montreal has long been a hot spot for Asian cuisine. One of my favorites in the area is Hot Pot Panda, a Chinese fondue restaurant on St Catherine street.
Hot Hot Panda is especially ideal on a cold evening, as the hot broth and spicy flavors will definitely warm you up. The format of the menu is a bit confusing, and English translations are not necessarily easy to come by. First, you need to choose a broth to cook the food which you will then select from a buffet-style layout. The soup pots can be split in two, so you have the option to try two different broths. In my experience as someone who enjoys spice, the spiciest broth is indeed very strong.
The options for what you can add to your broth are endless, with a large variety of meat, seafood, and vegetables on offer. It is definitely a nice group experience, as everyone can try the flavors that each broth infuses to the food.
This is the perfect location to enjoy a slow relaxed meal to warm you from the inside out.
