Situated in the heart of Pointe Saint Charles, in Montreal’s south west area below the Lachine canal, Knox Tavern is a great neighborhood bar where the locals and the downtowners come to meet up for a drink and enjoy some very tasty food. It’s quite a happening spot for Thursday’s 5 to 7 happy hour.
With its rustic classic décor, the atmosphere is laid back and welcoming. First and foremost a bar, it is very well stocked with a nice variety of beers and liquors. In addition, they offer a well-appointed but short menu to compliment your drinks. Some of their delicious appetizers are salmon tartar, kale or fennel salads. My favorite are the wonderful fish tacos with red cabbage coleslaw, tomatillo pico de gallo and chipotle mayonnaise. They have a variety of main dishes such as hoisin glazed baby back ribs, burger, and beet risotto. Last time I was there I had the three chili mayonnaise shrimp roll with THE best onion rings. Can’t go wrong with this place!
The bar is open until 03:00 while the kitchen usually closes at 23:00. Cheers!
