I could eat an Eclipse roll everyday. I’m in love with it and it’s hot! Indeed it is, with the finish of a jalapeño slice on top!
For me, eating sushi is a total delight for the senses. It’s a piece of art, so meticulously created, and a gustative climax. Nothing less. And Mikado has understood this.
Mikado, a wonderful sushi place, was among the pioneers of Japanese cuisine in Montreal back in 1987. I discovered it not too long ago and I enjoyed every bite, from the amazing sushis to the tasty sesame salad with avocado, mango, cucumber, asparagus amongst all the delicious flavors.
I have only visited the restaurant on St-Denis street and I have to say, I think the place needs a bit of love. But no doubt the best seats are at the counter watching the cooks work. They are friendly, funny and working like crazy.
Without hesitation, try the Eclipse roll as well as the Chardonnay. Don’t hesitate to ask the chef, he is always happy to give tasty suggestions.
