I have a serious love affair with doors and the varieties they come in; be it different colours, shapes, textures, materials and styles, a unique door is always a highlight and photo opportunity for me. The possibility of what lies behind, what variety of interiors this door has known.
One of my favorite doors in Montreal is on Roy street just before reaching Lafontaine Park. The door appears to be the entrance to an old stable, dark wood and interesting window shapes are its main features. To me it looks like the entrance to an enchanted space, a kingdom. It also fires up my imagination, thinking of how this area in Montreal once was. When did that door stop welcoming horses? Anyone who enjoys architecture and history should make a point to visit the stable door on Roy.
Besides this door, the surrounding area is filled with unique doors and houses for anyone who enjoys these subtleties. I also encourage anyone to share a favorite door!
