While writing this article, I am wolfing down the Blizzard, a fluffy doughnut topped with a mixture of Oreo crumbs and white chocolate. Hmmm… Do I have your attention?
Trou de Beigne is French for ‘Hole of the doughnut’. This doughnut shop has been right around my corner for some years now but I only recently discovered them. A member of the team told me that each morning, their perfectly round delicacies are hand-rolled, fried and glazed. There’s no doubt you are getting the freshest doughnuts in Little Italy.
Other doughnuts on the menu that I have tried are the Banana Nutella, Espresso and the Classic. I honestly can’t say which one I prefer. They also have vegan options, which I haven’t tried yet since they are currently only available with a minimum order of a dozen.
The store is technically open from 9:00 to 17:00, but closes early when they are out of supplies. They advise not to store the doughnuts in the fridge but to eat them on the day of purchase. I can assure you that won’t be a problem.
I’ve used the word ‘doughnut’ 8 times in this article. Are you salivating yet?
